Golfers at Lake Havasu

Stretching 300 miles along Arizona’s western border, the Colorado River winds its way through red rock canyons and through the vast deserts occasionally expanding into great sapphire lakes such as Lake Havasu. Set amidst the scenic desert surrounds with sweeping sand dunes, incredible rock formations and canyons and at the doorstep of the cool blue waters of Lake Havasu, Lake Havasu City holds the magic of the desert and the water.

Gaining international fame upon purchasing the London Bridge in 1968, which used to span the River Thames in England, the city now hosts a charming English village oriented around the bridge and the shores of Lake Havasu.

With more than 45 miles of scenic waters, Lake Havasu hosts a wide range of activities both on and off the water including fishing, boating, kayaking, and water skiing on the lake and hang-gliding, mountain biking, desert jeep tours and golfing on the land. With its large expanse of smooth water, its no wonder Lake Havasu is the Personal Watercraft Capital of the World.

Lake Havasu also hosts a wide array of special events every year including Jet Sports Boating Association’s World Racing Finals, London Bridge Days, Relics of Rods Classic Car Show and Festival of Lights and Boat Parade.

With all these exciting activities packed into the spectacular natural scenery where the lake meets the desert, Lake Havasu is an exceptional vacation destination.
